- Six players each side, full court, with spare balls behind the end lines.
- Use the scoreboard preset to start at 18-18. With 13 or 14 players, rotate substitutes between sets.
How it runs
Start each set tied at 18. Play normal six-on-six to 25, winning by two. Call a serving target before each serve and use the team’s usual reception and defensive systems. After the set, change the starting rotation and play again. Talk through one decision between sets.
Time and reps: 12 to 20 minutes.
Coaching points
- Choose the serving target before the toss.
- Call the second-ball setter when the setter takes first contact.
- After an error, call the next serving target or reception assignment.
Make it easier or harder
Make it easier
- Pause between rallies to confirm the serving target and reception assignments.
Make it harder
- Start one side at 16 and the other at 18, then switch the trailing side next set.
