Beach 2v2
Rufio Court can draw a beach court: sand, rope lines instead of painted ones, no attack line, and two players a side. Beach plays follow beach rules, so there are no rotations and no libero, the blocker takes the net, and the defender digs or pulls.
- Tap New play and choose Beach 2v2 at the top of the dialog. You get an empty beach court with a pair on each side, numbered 1 and 2, and the beach formations and quick plays are listed instead of the indoor ones. In an open play, Settings > Court > Court > Beach switches the court and leaves every player where they are, only the lines move.
- Pick the look on the Court tab of Settings. Choose the surroundings in Venue: Beach, Outdoor stadium, Gym, Arena, Studio, Floating court, or a minimal setting. The Lighting setting appears when the chosen venue uses outdoor lighting. Sand is golden, white, or volcanic, and Ropes sets the rope color.
- For six a side on sand, set Size to Indoor size. That is the 9 x 18 m court with its 3 m attack line, played with the indoor rules.
- Select a player to choose Headwear (None, Visor, or Cap) and, in a built play, their Lane (left or right) and Role (DEF, BLK, or Split, where the nearer player blocks each attack).
In Edit touches, a pass or a set goes To partner by default. An Attack has a Shot (Cut, Line, High line, Jumbo, Pokey, Cobra, On two, Swing, or Tip), and picking one aims the ball at its usual landing spot; click the floor to place it yourself. The Block choice sets what the other pair does at the net: Line, Angle, Pull off the net, or No block. Leave it on Auto and the blocker takes the side the ball does not go through.
Start with a beach example
- Open Playbook > Quick Plays and choose Beach 2v2.
- Open a side-out, a shot example or Beach receive from the First person group.
- Watch it, then switch to Edit mode if you want to change it.
Changing the surface is not the same as changing the team format. Check the court kind and formation rather than assuming a sand floor means two players per side.
